Keyboard shortcuts in the player

How to play, skip, change speed, and use other keyboard shortcuts while watching a video.

Written by David Okuniev

Click the video once so the page is focused, then use your keyboard to play, skip, and change speed.

Shortcuts don't work while you're typing in comments, the AI assistant, or a form. Click the video again to get them back.

6. If a shortcut doesn't work

  • Click the video so the page is focused, not the address bar.

  • Pause first for comma, period, and Shift + arrows.

  • Hold Shift to change speed with comma or period. Without Shift, those keys step frames.

  • If you've selected text, Shift + arrows grow the highlight instead of stepping frames. Click the video so nothing is selected.

  • On the front bumper, skip and frame keys are off. Play, pause, and speed still work.

  • If a comment or assistant field is focused, click the video to return to player shortcuts.
