Connect Supercut to ChatGPT

Add Supercut as a custom MCP plugin in ChatGPT, so it can search your recordings and read transcripts, comments, and playlists in a chat.

Written by Supercut

Supercut MCP works in ChatGPT as a custom plugin. Connect it once and ChatGPT can search your recordings and read transcripts, comments, reactions, frames, and playlists in a chat.

Supercut isn't in the ChatGPT app directory yet, the listing is with OpenAI for review. Until it's approved, you add Supercut yourself through Developer mode, using the steps below.

New here? Start with our Model Context Protocol (MCP) article for the full MCP overview, including sign-in and the token fallback.

Read our documentation for more details about it.

Before you start

  • Developer mode isn't on every ChatGPT plan. If you can't find it in Settings, your plan doesn't include it.

  • Signing in over OAuth needs the personal API token feature on your Supercut plan and seat.

1. Turn on Developer mode

Open Settings in ChatGPT and go to Plugins. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Developer mode.

  • Switch Developer mode on.

ChatGPT flags Developer mode as elevated risk, because it lets you add connectors OpenAI hasn't reviewed. Only add servers you trust.

2. Create the Supercut plugin

Still in Plugins, Go to Browse plugins.

Choose to create a new plugin and fill in the New Plugin dialog, and click on the plus.

  • Name: Supercut

  • Connection: keep Server URL selected

  • Server URL: https://mcp.supercut.ai/mcp

  • Authentication: change this from No Auth to OAuth

  • Tick I understand and want to continue

Then click Create. Icon and Description are optional.

Authentication defaults to No Auth. Set it to OAuth, or ChatGPT connects without signing you in and can't reach your recordings.

3. Sign in to Supercut

ChatGPT shows Add Supercut to ChatGPT. Click Sign in with Supercut and finish in the browser:

  • Sign in to Supercut.

  • Choose the workspace you want to connect.

  • Approve access.

ChatGPT stores the credential, so there's nothing to paste.

4. Enable Supercut in a chat

Open a chat and turn on the Supercut plugin for that conversation. ChatGPT asks your permission the first time it uses a tool.

5. Test the connection

Ask ChatGPT to use Supercut. For example:

Use the Supercut MCP to list my recent recordings and pull out any bug reports

If the connection works, ChatGPT retrieves your Supercut data through MCP. For everything it can do once connected, see MCP Tools.

Manage or revoke access

Open your workspace settings and go to Personal API tokens. The OAuth credentials section lists every client you've signed in with, so you can disconnect ChatGPT there.

That's it!

ChatGPT can now read your Supercuts directly. Ask it to pull transcripts, summarise recordings, surface comments, or extract action items from any video you have access to.
