If you can open a Supercut and the other person can’t, start with the most common product cause: the workspace that owns the video is on standby after the trial, with no paid subscription. Sharing is blocked in that state. Permissions, passwords, and expiration still matter — but only after the workspace can share at all.
1. Workspace on standby (no active subscription)
Supercut doesn’t have a free forever plan. After the 2-week trial, if there’s no paid subscription, the workspace goes into standby. In standby, sharing is blocked.
What the other person sees
When someone opens the link, they may see a message like:
“The video can only be accessed by its creator. This workspace needs an active subscription to share videos.”
What you should do
Start or renew a paid plan for that workspace
Then share the link again
If you’re the creator, you may still open your own videos while others cannot — that’s expected in standby.
2. Check who the link is allowed for
If the workspace has an active subscription and people still can’t open the link, open the video’s Share panel (dropdown next to Share) and check general access:
Anyone with the link — Anyone who has the URL can open it (unless a password or expiration blocks them).
People at [your workspace] — Only people signed into that workspace can open it. Someone outside your company, or signed into a different workspace, won’t get in.
Specific access — Only the people you added can open it. They need to be in your workspace and signed in with the email you invited.
If the other person is outside your team, set access to Anyone with the link (add a password if you still want it private). See Sharing permissions.
3. Password protection
If Password protected is on, the link alone isn’t enough. The password is not in the URL — send it separately.
Viewers see a password page when they open the link
If you changed the password after sharing, the old one stops working
More detail: Password protection.
4. Link expiration
If you set an expiration date and that date has passed, the link no longer opens the video. Update or remove the expiration in the Share panel. See Link expiration.
5. Make sure they have the full link
Copy the link again from Supercut (link icon next to Share) and send that fresh copy. Partial links, old bookmarks, or links rewritten by chat apps sometimes fail. Ask them to open it in a normal browser window (not only an in-app preview).
6. They need the right account (for workspace or specific access)
For People at [workspace] or Specific access, the viewer must sign in with an allowed account. Being logged into a personal workspace while the video lives in a company workspace is a common mix-up — have them switch workspace, or change the video to Anyone with the link.

Quick checklist
Is the workspace past trial with no paid plan (standby)? → Start or renew a subscription
Does the recipient see the “creator only / active subscription” message? → Same fix
Is access set to Anyone with the link if they’re outside your workspace?
Password or expired link?
Did they get the complete, current link?
Still stuck? Ask for the team in chat and share what the other person sees on screen (exact error text helps).
